About this product

Woven Silk Ties

In a woven tie the pattern is made by the loom rather than laid on the surface, so a crest or a stripe has depth and an edge you can feel. It is the difference people register without being able to name it.

Every tie here is cut on the true bias — forty-five degrees to the weave. It wastes about a third of the cloth, which is exactly why cheap ties are not cut that way, and it is the single reason a tie hangs straight instead of curling into a spiral after a fortnight.

We state the interlining weight, because that is what decides knot size and whether the tie recovers its shape overnight. A heavy interlining gives a full knot and a firm hand; a lighter one gives a smaller knot and a softer drape. Neither is better and you should get to choose.

FAQ

Woven Silk Ties: quick answers

What is the minimum order for woven silk ties?
Minimum order is just 12 — with bulk pricing tiers as quantities grow.
How fast will my order arrive?
Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and the finished order ships in about 2 weeks — express turnaround is available for tight dates.
Why do ties twist and curl?
Because they were cut off-grain instead of on the true bias. Bias cutting wastes about a third of the cloth, so it is the first corner cut on a cheap tie — and once a tie twists, pressing will not fix it.
What does the interlining actually do?
It decides the knot size and whether the tie springs back after a day tied. We state its weight, so you can choose a full firm knot or a smaller softer one rather than take whatever arrives.
